7th Wedding Anniversary Flowers

My sweet husband got me these flowers for our anniversary. There are 14 yellow and purple roses. He is quite sentimental-our wedding colors were yellow and purple and we were married on the 14th of May. And the main flower in our wedding was a rose-my bouquet was all yellow roses. Yellow roses are my favorite flower.

Darren's 30th Birthday Green Velvet Cake

This recipe was from my Cake Doctor cookbook. I am not a fan of red 40 dye, so I opted for dyeing the batter green. I had seen a picture of a green velvet cake in another cookbook, so I went with it. Darren really liked it, but I only really loved the cream cheese frosting. I didn't think the cake had much flavor. Next time, I will definitely make it 100% homemade.

New Orleans-It's All About the Food

In April, all 4 of us went to visit Nana and Grandpa John in New Orleans. The first 2 pictures show the delicious lunch buffet food we ate at their company, Sonoco.

Cafe Du Monde was tops on my list of stops to make in the French Quarter. The beignets with powdered sugar, chased down with some milk, were delish!

Pecan Praline French Toast

This was another guinea pig recipe, made on Sunday morning last April during General Conference. Also, not a keeper recipe. I did make some monster cookies recently that were good. I will post a picture of those the next time I make them.

Sour Cream Coffee Cake

I like to try new breakfasts over General Conference weekend, and this is what I made on Saturday morning. It is a Sour Cream Coffee Cake from a Betty Crocker cookbook. It was just okay--not good enough to make again.
